Summary edit

Description
English: Ballynoe Stone Circle (1 of 4). The stone circle, at Ballynoe, is thought to date from the Stone Age but might have continued in use until the Bronze Age. It has a circumference of over 100 ft with some stones almost 6ft high. It is not complete and some of the stones may be found elsewhere on the site. There are various theories about whether stone circles were built for religious or astronomical purposes or simply used for burials. This is the SW part of the circle. Continue to 875278.
