Deutsch: Otto Bamberger (1885–1933) war ein deutscher Unternehmer in Lichtenfels, Oberfranken; seit 1910 Geschäftsführer der Firma D. Bamberger Palmkorb- und Möbelklopfer, gegründet durch seinen Großvater David (1811–1890) in Mitwitz, Oberfranken. Das Unternehmen wuchs zu einem der seinerzeit größten europäischen Lieferanten von Rohmaterial für die Korb- und Möbelindustrie sowie einem Handelshaus für Kinderspielzeug nach Pestalozzi-Schüler Friedrich Fröbel, einer großen Vielzahl von Kinderspielen, Handarbeit-/Bastelmaterialien sowie kunsthandwerklichen Erzeugnissen mit mehr als 200 Mitarbeitern. In seiner heute denkmalgeschützten Villa, dem „Sonnenhaus“ in der Kronacher Straße 21, deren Interieur 1928 durch Bauhaus-Designer Erich Dieckmann (1896–1944) komplett neu gestaltet und ausgestattet worden war, verkehrten bei regelmäßigen literarischen Abenden Schriftsteller und Grafiker wie Alfred Kubin (1877–1959) und Kunstmaler wie Reinhold Nägele (1884–1972). Otto Bamberger verstarb 48-jährig nach der Machtübergabe an die Nationalsozialisten, kurz nachdem er in Frankfurt am Main als jüdischer Unternehmer und SPD-Mitglied in „Schutzhaft“ genommen worden war. Seine Kunstsammlung, u. a. Werke von Ernst Barlach, Max Beckmann, Marc Chagall, Lovis Corinth, Otto Dix, Paul Klee, Oskar Kokoschka, Käthe Kollwitz, Alfred Kubin, Wilhelm Lehmbruck, Max Liebermann, Franz Marc, Paula Modersohn und Emil Nolde wurde als „entartet“ klassifiziert und beschlagnahmt.
English: Otto Bamberger (1885–1933) was a German entrepreneur from Lichtenfels in Upper Franconia. Since 1910 he was managing director of the company D. Bamberger Palmkorb- und Möbelklopfer which was founded in Mitwitz by his grandfather David (1811–1890). At his time it was one of the largest European supplier of raw material for the industry of woven baskets and for the furniture manufacturers. A branch of the company in Coburg also distributed kids games, toys, arts and crafts materials and handicraft. After the Nazis came into power he died shortly after an interrogation. His art collection including works by Ernst Barlach, Max Beckmann, Marc Chagall, Lovis Corinth, Otto Dix, Paul Klee, Oskar Kokoschka, Käthe Kollwitz, Alfred Kubin, Wilhelm Lehmbruck, Max Liebermann, Franz Marc, Paula Modersohn und Emil Nolde was characterized as degenerate and was confiscated. In his villa Sonnenhaus which was completely new furnitured in 1928 by Bauhaus designer Erich Dieckmann (1896–1944) frequent literary nights were joined by writers and graphic artists like Alfred Kubin (1877–1959) and by painters like Reinhold Nägele (1884–1972).
