Español: Estas fotografías del Banco Mercantil de Monterrey provienen de la Revista: “The Banker´s Magazine” publicada por Brandford-Rhodes & Co. En 1909 Enlace Google: <a href="https://books.google.com/books?id=9F7PAAAAMAAJ">books.google.com/books?id=9F7PAAAAMAAJ</a>Aunque la institución bancaria comenzó en 1897 con un capital de 2 millones y medio de pesos el edificio comenzó a construirse en 1900. Estas fotografías son de 1909. Así lo describe la revista : “Un edificio a prueba de fuegos de de tres plantas, de piera color crema que cubre un espacio de 10, pies cuadrados, fue erigido sobre la esquina noroeste de las calles Morelos y Zaragoza. No es sólo uno de los más bellos edificios de Monterrey sino, como se puede observar en las vistas aquí presentadas, se compara favorablemente a los más modernos edificios bancarios. Está elegantemente acabado y bien equipado de principio a fin”.
English: “A three-story, fireproof building, of cream-colored stone, covering over 10,000 square feet of space, was erected, at the northwest corner of Morelos and Zaragoza streets. This is not only one of the- handsome buildings of Monterey, but, as may be seen from the views presented herewith, compares most favorably with the In M modern bank buildings. It is elegantly finished and well equipped throughout.”
