DescriptionBanh Canh with Pork Knuckle, Pork Blood Jelly, Prawn Cakes in Tomato and Crab Soup - Hoa Tran AUD9 (3999697937).jpg |
The 猪脚猪红虾饼濑粉 Banh Canh Cua was very good. The 濑粉 Bánh canh was thick, slippery and chewy! The thick starchy soup was nice, but it did have an initial metallic twang which went away after I gave it a squeeze of lemon and a splash of fish sauce. The sections of pork knuckle were cooked just right, making the skin and tendons firm and chrunchy, although I do like them cooked until they're a silky slurpy mass too :) Also good were the cubes of pork blood jelly and tasty sliced prawn cakes. Maybe I should plan on eating my way through Alice's Guide to Vietnamese Banh! :P --- Packed for Sunday lunch, with a quick turnover and a short queue spilling into the carpark outside. 和珍 Hoa Tran Restaurant (03) 9547 7879 246a Springvale Rd Springvale VIC 3171 |
