Description
English: The Bank of Montreal building was built in 1931 and designed by John McIntyre in Tudor Revival style. The Powell River Company had dealt exclusively with the Canadian Bank of Commerce until turned down a loan to built the No. 7 Paper Machine and the Lois River Dam. The company then invited the Bank of Montreal to Powell River and even built the bank for their use. The build was being renovated in 2013 for use as an art space and community gathering spot called Studio 56.
