Summary edit

Description
English: Banks of the River Teme View across the river towards the prominent tower of St Laurence's Church.

The Teme, shallow and fast-flowing at this point, rises in the Kerry Hills, south of Newtown in Powys, and flows through Ludlow in Shropshire, emptying into the Severn south of Worcester. Two other rivers, the Ithon and the Mule, rise within 500 metres of the Teme. The river falls almost 500 metres during its descent from a height of 506 metres above sea level at source, to 14 metres above sea level at its confluence with the Severn.

The entire river was designated as an SSSI in 1996.
