Nederlands: Noodwoningen van het Koning Albertfonds van na Wereldoorlog 1: barakken van een Belgisch vluchtelingenkamp in Nederland tijdens de Eerste Wereldoorlog werden in 1918, na de oorlog heropgebouwd in België door het Albertfonds samen met andere geprefabriceerde wooneenheden bestemd voor dakloos geworden slachtoffers van de oorlog. Zij werden ‘Baraques Albert’ genoemd. In 1928 kocht het gemeentebestuur van Herstal 322 van deze barakken om een lokale huisvestingscrisis op te lossen. Bijna een eeuw later zijn enkele tientallen van deze kazernes nog steeds bewoond. Impasse Dronet
Français : Maisons du Fonds du Roi Albert: baraques d'un camp pour refugiés belges en Hollande pendant la Première Guerre mondiale sont en 1918 après la guerre reconstruites en Belgique par le Fonds Albert ainsi que d'autres unités d'habitation préfabriquées destinées pour les sinistrés. Ils s'appelaient "Baraques Albert". En 1928, l’administration communale de Herstal achète 322 de ces baraques pour résoudre une crise locale du logement. Presqu’un siècle plus tard, quelques dizaines de ces baraques sont toujours habitées. Impasse Dronet |
