Summary edit
DescriptionBarham Station (remains) - geograph.org.uk - 1759663.jpg |
English: Barham Station (remains). View from the east to remains of Barham Station, which had been on the Elham Valley line from Canterbury to Shorncliffe. This line had an unusual history, as the line was taken over by the War Office (Army) on 1/12/40 to provide access to our big Cross-Channel guns, a public service, however, being maintained from Lyminge to Shorncliffe until 3/5/43 (goods until 1/10/47). It seems the station was made into a house, but from the scenes on Geograph of the location at the present day everything is completely transformed. |
