Description

A barragem da Valeira situa-se no distrito de Bragança, entre os concelhos de São João da Pesqueira (distrito de Viseu) e Carrazeda de Ansiães. Entrou em funcionamento em 1975 e é alimentada pelo curso de água do rio Douro. A Valeira é uma barragem em gravidade, com 48 metros de altura. Pertence à bacia hidrográfica principal do Douro e possui uma bacia hidrográfica própria de 4388,0 km2. A sua albufeira tem uma capacidade total de armazenamento de 98 540 x 103 m3 e uma capacidade útil de 13 040 x 103 m3, e apresenta uma superfície inundável ao NPA (Nível Pleno de Armazenamento) de 795 hectares. As cotas de água na albufeira são: NPA (Nível Pleno de Armazenamento) de 105,20 metros, NMC (Nível Máximo de Cheia) de 113,00 metros e NmE (Nível Mínimo de Exploração) de 103,50 metros.
