Description

1996 Ferrari F310 V-10 Italian 1996 was the year Damon Hill snatched the World Championship title at the last race of the season in Suzuka, Japan. Williams cars outclassed the opposition as their rivals suffered teething problems. Ferrari were no exception, having opted to replace their 1995 V-12 engine with a V-10. The cars main Achilles heel was gearbox failure. This did not prevent Michael Schumacher from wrestling the car to four pole positions and three wins. During the Spanish Grand Prix, he drove probably his finest race through torrential rain that forced two-thirds of the chasing pack to retire. Schumacher finished third and Ferrari second in the Drivers and Constructors Championships. Cylinders: V-10 Tipo 046 Valves: Overhead Capacity: 3 litres Power Output: 700bhp @ 17,000rpm Maximum Speed: 218mph Price New: Not marketed Manufacturer: Societe Esercizio Maranello, Fabbriche Automillie Corse Ferrari Owner: Procar International

Housing a collection of over 250 automobiles and motorcycles telling the story of motoring on the roads of Britain from the dawn of motoring to the present day, the award winning (Winner - The International Historic Motoring Awards of the Year 2012) National Motor Museum appeals to all age groups. From World Land Speed Record Breakers including Campbell’s famous Bluebird to film favourites such as the magical flying car, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and rare oddities like the giant orange on wheels. Don’t miss exciting extra features such as the Motorsport Gallery, Wheels and Jack Tucker's Garage - A permanent, multi award-winning 1930's garage has been created within the Museum, complete down to the last nut and bolt and rusty drainpipe. Whilst the building is a complete fabrication, everything in it - all the fixtures, fittings, tools and ephemera - are genuine artefacts collected over a period of 25 years.
