Summary edit

Description
English: Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this garden tomb is considered to be the finest example of Mughal architecture before the Taj Mahal. Like the Agra monument, it is surrounded by a charbagh (four square gardens) with water channels and a central mausoleum. Built in 1565 AD, nine years after Mughal emperor Humayun’s death by his widow Bega Begum, the picturesque tomb makes good use of white marble and red sandstone.
