English: Bench mark below the entrance to Scarborough Castle This bench mark is at the foot of the west buttress that carries the entrance road into Scarborough Castle. The mark is recorded as being one metre above ground level, so obviously the ground level has been raised at some time. A footpath passes under the roadway and continues down to the North Sands through an area called The Holms. |
