English: Beneath Gilnockie Bridge The west base of Gilnockie Bridge rests on what looks like an unconformity, with almost horizontal strata resting unconformably on top of dipping strata. However further work on similar features in the vicinity suggests that rather than a true unconformity, this is one of a series of discordance surfaces consistent with synsedimentary channel bank collapse. |
