Grenup Monument in Glenwood Cemetery
Description

An obelisk installed on a square base adorned with three reliefs. On the south side of the base is a relief of Grenup at the moment of his death when as a fire fighter he was run over by the water wagon. Four other figure react to the tragedy. One figure throws up his arms while the other three halt the wagon. On the west side of the base is a relief of a fire hose and two nozzles. On the east side of the base is a relief of a fire axe, torch and spaner wrench tied together with a rope. Egg and dart motifs, garlands and ribbons decorate the piece. The sculpture rest in a triangle plot surrounded by a low fence. Fire hydrants are placed at each of the three corners of the triangle.
