Summary edit

Description
English: Return rail ticket purchased on the train, for a return journey from Upton station (on the outskirts of Birkenhead, Wirral, Merseyside) to Shrewsbury, Shropshire.

On the nearby Merseyrail network, tickets must be bought before boarding, or the passenger will be liable for a fine. However, merely one station down the track on the mid-wirral (Borderlands) line, Upton station remains part of the non-electrified Arriva-North Wales network and conversly tickets are still generally bought on the train. (in lieu of facilities at many smaller stations). This line remains relatively undeveloped, although that may change as there have been plans afoot to extend the Merseyrail network here.

The above journey takes a little under two hours when the change of trains at Wrexham General is favourable.
