Description

Die East Side Gallery ist ein erhaltenes und bemaltes Stück der berliner Mauer zwischen dem Berliner Ostbahnhof und der Oberbaumbrücke. Anfang der 90ziger Jahre wurden die Mauerreste von 118 Künstler aus 21 Länder bemalt. Ursprünglich war das Mauerstück 1300 Meter lang doch schon 2006 begann man Teile abzubauen und zu versetzen. Ab März 2013 wurden da weitere große Stücke herausgerissen. Angeblich um einen Fluchtweg zu schaffen. Oberbürgermeister Wowereit soll gesagt haben "Niemand hat die Absicht eine Mauer abzureißen". Hatte nicht so etwas ähnliches schon einmal ein Politiker vor längerer Zeit gesagt. "Niemand hat die Absicht, eine Mauer zu bauen!"



The East Side Gallery is a preserved and painted piece of the Berlin Wall between the Berlin Ostbahnhof and Oberbaumbrücke. The early 90s, the wall remains were painted by 118 artists from 21 countries. Originally the piece of wall was 1,300 meters long but in 2006 began to dismantle parts and move.

As of March 2013 more pieces were torn. Allegedly to create an escape route. Mayor Wowereit should have said "No one has the intention to tear down a wall." Did not a politician told a long time ago almost at the same place: "Nobody intends to build a wall!"
