Commentary:

Берли́нская стена́ (Berliner Mauer, официально называвшаяся Antifaschistischer Schutzwall ) – стена из бетонных блоков высотой около 4 м и длиной около 45 км, разделявшая в течение 28 лет Восточный и Западный Берлин. Воздвигнута, как часть «Железного занавеса» в годы обострения международной обстановки вокруг Германии. В основе которого лежало стремление Советского Союза добиться создания союза германских государств, в то время, когда с точки зрения Запада следовало провести общегерманские выборы, что для советской стороны было неприемлемо.

Для граждан бегство означало не только освобождение от реалий тоталитаризма, но и получения шанса на реализацию своих способностей и удовлетворение материальных запросов.
