| Description | Bern in 1979: Looking southeast on Thunstrasse from Helvetiaplatz, as a trainset of the Verkehrsbetriebe Bern-Worb (Bern–Worb Transit Agency, or VBW) lays over on the terminal siding, while a tram on SVB line 5 passes by, southbound. Closest to the camera is VBW control trailer No. 243, a Swiss type BDt that was built in 1948 by SWS and was numbered 82 until 1974. The fleet number of the VBW motor unit coupled to car 243 was not recorded by the photographer. In 1997, the Bern–Worb line (now line G and part of RBS) was extended north from Helvetiaplatz, across the Kirchenfeldbrücke, to Zytglogge, and the terminal siding pictured here was taken out of use. |
