DescriptionBhairav, Nyatapole Dewal Taumadhi Tole Bhaktapur Nepal Rajesh Dhungana.jpg |
English: The famous Bhairav temple in Taumadhi tol of Bhaktapur. This temple was built by King Jagatjyoti Malla in the 11th century. This temple looks very artistic and emotional. There are seven gajuras in the temple. This Bhairav is considered by Hindus and Buddhists. In front of the temple is the temple of Uma Maheshwar Devi. This temple is also very attractive for domestic and foreign tourists.
The famous Nyatapole Dewal of Bhaktapur. It is located in Taumadhi tole of Bhaktapur market. It is the tallest five storey temple in the valley. The height of this wall is 70 feet. This temple was built in the year 1765 BS by King Bhupatindra Malla, a devotee of Goddess and a lover of art. This temple is very artistic. Tundals of woodwork can be seen in the temple. The idols carved on the pylons at the main entrance of the temple have 18-armed Mahishasurmardini goddesses, serpents and crocodile-shaped figures. On the first floor of this temple is the image of Goddess Siddhalakshmi. As Bhairav in front of this temple is of fierce nature, King Bhupatindra Malla has built a temple of Goddess Bhagwati Siddhilakshmi with the power of Tantra Shastra to establish a deity that Bhairav has to accept. Siddhilakshmi is Bhagwati who has achieved amazing perfection. While building this temple, the king himself was carrying bricks. In front of the main gate of the temple, there are five types of wrestlers, one pair to the left and the right of each step. The temple is guarded by Jayamalla and Pahalman, also known as Patta, with two hammers on the second step, a lion on the third, vultures on the fourth, lionesses and tigers on the fifth. As this temple is very attractive, it has attracted not only domestic but also foreign tourists. The art from the bottom to the top of the temple is very excellent. |
