Description

Seeamt, Keilstraße 3 in Bremerhaven; one of the oldest buildings in town (prior to restauration)

  • gebaut 1897/1898 für die bremische Hafenverwaltung;
  • danach Seeamt bis dieses 2002-06 aufgelöst wurde;
  • seit 2008 wissenschaftliche Abteilung des Deutschen Auswandererhauses mit Museumssammlung
  • seit 2009 Zentrum für Migrationsforschung mit Spezialbibliothek und Sitz der Stiftung Deutsches Auswandererhaus und der BEAN (Bremerhavener Entwicklungsgesellschaft Alter/Neuer Hafen mbH & Co. KG)
  • 2010-04 bis 2010-08 umfassende Restaurierung durch Stäwog (Städtische Wohnungsgesellschaft); (im alten Verhandlungssaal ggf. Einrichtung einer öffentlichen Bibliothek?)
