English: "Le Superbe dans l'état de repos". Engraving of a watercolour by Jacques Barraband (1767-1809), of a superb bird of paradise from Histoire Naturelle des Oiseaux de Paradis et Des Rolliers (1806), t. 1, pl. "16", p. 46 ter.
A mistake was made while printing the number for this plate: it should be n° 15, and the preceding plate "Le Superbe étalant ses parures" should be n° 14 (as per the numbers indicated under the section's title). The error is signalled, albeit incompletely, at the end of tome 2. Français : "Le Superbe dans l'état de repos". Gravure d'une aquarelle par Jacques Barraband, publiée par François Levaillant dans Histoire Naturelle des Oiseaux de Paradis et Des Rolliers, t. 1, pl. "16", p. 46 ter. Il y a une erreur sur le numéro de la planche : cette planche devrait être le n° 15, et la planche précédente : "Le Superbe étalant ses parures", devrait être le n° 14 (qui sont les deux numéros indiqués sous le titre de cette section. L'erreur est signalée, mais incomplètement, en fin du tome 2. |
