Summary
editDescriptionBishops Cannings, Bridge Inn on Horton Road - geograph.org.uk - 1406906.jpg |
English: Bishops Cannings: Bridge Inn on Horton Road This is a Wadworth Brewery pub at the Horton Bridge crossing of the Kennet and Avon Canal. The brewery's own website describes it as pre-dating the canal and from around 1800, whereas the canal was opened here in 1810. However it is some distance from the nearest village and it is difficult to understand the reason for it being built here unless the canal was already under construction. Horton Bridge is just visible on the left. |
