English: St Paul's and the City from Blackfriars Railway Bridge in 1953. View NE, towards Blackfriars and Holborn Viaduct on the ex-LC&DR City line: trains are visible at the terminal platforms at Blackfriars. St Paul's Cathedral dominates the City skyline, except perhaps - at that date - Faraday House nearer on Queen Victoria Street. The dome of the Old Bailey is obvious beyond Blackfriars Station; undistinguished warehouses line the river bank. |
