English: View of the Blue House (first mechanical spinning mill; Fabrikzeile 8a) in July 2023. The whereabouts of the Blue Building have been discussed since the early 2000s. Since it's been standing around, it's also been decaying. The facade crumbled away, revealing the brick wall. Over the years, greenery grew on the roofs of the structure built between 1850 and 1880. Around May 2023, the Hof City Council decided to demolish the building, which will still happen in 2023. Efforts by people who want to preserve cultural assets aimed to give the building a listed building status, which failed. Senioren-Wohnen Hof GmbH & Co. KG, based at Kurfürstendamm 44, 10719 Berlin, is the owner of the land on which the Blue House stands. After demolition, a residential complex for people of advanced age is to be built there. The remnant itself has window openings on 3 sides, although the sides at the round corner are not at a 90° angle to each other. Today, a Hofer Geschichtswege plaque on the building and a yellow plaque commemorate the historical value of the building. The building, used as a spinning mill, is part of the textile industry that still plays a role there today. The HOFTEX Group has its headquarters in Fabrikzeile, opposite the Blue House. Here you can see the clock tower with clock, but it is no longer in operation. It shows shortly before 12 o'clock, which is also true for the condition of the building. The clock itself should receive a commemorative plaque and probably be preserved, despite the demolition of the building. Behind the dome runs the lightning rod. The base of the dome should not be circular, but rather oval-shaped distorted.
