DescriptionBlinden Schule KW 31 Fotos Mercator.jpg |
(FUJIFILM X-E2, XF 55-200mmF3.5-4.8 R LM OIS by 55mm). English: High resolution 95° partial panorama of the blind school in Königs-Wusterhausen, Brandenburg, Germany. This is the main school building. It was built between 1899 and 1901 as a home for the blind in the neo-Gothic style and is a listed building. 31 photographs were taken using rotation camera motion. The horizon is on the 10th step of the stairs. The Microsoft Image Composite Editor and Mercator projection were used for stitching. The flat preview image distorts reality, the building appears to curve outward. There are 3 ways to view this panorama correctly: using an interactive viewer for partial panoramas (this can be not easy, Instructions_Partial panoramic images, Examples_Partial panorama); via standard viewer for normal images, such as Microsoft Photos by significant magnification; and in the style of old panoramas - printing out a large photo, bending it by 95 degrees inward and viewing it from the point of intersection of the curvature axis with the horizon of the picture. Another photo taken for the same area in rectilinear projection can be seen here File:Blinden Schule KW 31 Fotos Rectilinear.jpg. You can see a video comparing Mercator and rectilinear projections here File:Blinden Schule KW 31 Fotos Mercator vs Rectilinear.webm. (FUJIFILM X-E2, XF 55-200mmF3.5-4.8 R LM OIS by 55mm).
