Description
English: Boats and lock on the Regents Canal at Queen Mary University. This is the view in the opposite direction to 1515194, looking south-southeast along the Regents Canal towards Stepney. There are also locks and a few small boats here too - I'm unsure whether it's owned by Queen Mary University or by the public, but I did see two men rowing here and they looked young enough to be Queen Mary students. Mile End Road crosses it on a small iron bridge behind the lock, whilst the trees on the opposite bank are the edge of Mile End Park. What strikes me as odd on Geograph is that the gazetteer information of 1515194 states that it is near Bethnal Green, while the gazetteer information on this photograph states it is near Stepney - why not just say it's in or near Mile End?
