English: Heavily damaged wayside cross Köster-Verlemann at Old Bockraden Street (Alte Bockradener Straße) in Ibbenbüren-Bockraden, Kreis Steinfurt, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. In the last week of September 2013 the corpus was smashed and vandalised by unknown hands. Since 1984 this sandstone cross is a listed cultural heritage monument.
Deutsch: Stark beschädigtes Wegekreuz Köster-Verlemann an der Alten Bockradener Straße in Ibbenbüren-Bockraden, Kreis Steinfurt, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Deutschland. Ein gutes Beispiel für die beständige Gefährdung auch von Baudenkmälern: Der Fotowettbewerb Wiki Loves Monuments 2013 läuft noch, da wird Mitte der 39. Kalenderwoche 2013 von ruchloser Hand der Korpus des Sandsteinkreuzes mit roher Gewalt abgeschlagen und zerstört. Es ist ein Beispiel aus einer ganzen Serie ähnlicher Gewaltakte, wie sie die Region seit den Tagen der protestantischen Bilderstürmer und nationalsozialistischen Brandstifter nicht mehr gesehen hat und in heutiger Zeit nur noch Stil der Taliban und ähnlicher islamistischer „Gotteskrieger“ ist. Denn in der gleichen Woche wurden zudem vier Wegekreuze im Nachbarort Mettingen auf dieselbe Weise zerstört, ebenso zwei Denkmäler in Hörstel stark beschädigt.
