Das Anwesen wurde von 1900 bis 1930 vom Baron De Dietrich gebaut und erhielt das heutige Aussehen eines Schlosses infolge einiger Bauerweiterungen im Laufe der Zeit. Es läßt sich eine Vielzahl von Baustilen feststellen (Gotik, Renaissance, Barock). In der Tat überrascht dieses Schloß sowohl durch sein Äußeres wie durch seine Innenausstattung. Die Parkanlage wurde genauso vielseitig gestaltet: englischer, französischer, italienischer und japanischer Garten. 1970 wurde die Parkanlage der Öffentlichkeit zugänglich gemacht. In den Nebengebäuden der Leonardsau ist auch ein botanischer Lehrpfad und ein Pferde- und Pferdegespann-Museum untergebracht. |
