Українська: Bombylius major - найбільш поширений представник роду Bombylius. Свою латинську назву комаха отримала через візуальну схожість із джмелями з якими її часто плутають. Така особливість зовнішнього вигляду дозволяє представникам виду не лише відлякувати потенційних хижаків, а й відкладати яйця у гнізда інших комах. Bombylius major можна зустріти з квітня по червень скрізь у помірній зоні Європи, Північної Америки та в деяких районах Азії.
Русский: Bombylius major - самый распространённый представитель рода Bombylius. Своё латинское название насекомое получило из-за своей визуальной схожести со шмелями, с которыми его часто путают. Такая особенность внешнего вида позволяет представителям данного вида не только отпугивать потенциальных хищников, но и откладывать яйца в гнёзда других насекомых. Bombylius major можно встретить с апреля по июнь в умеренной зоне Европы, Северной Америки, а также в некоторых частях Азии.
English: Bombylius major is the most common type of fly within the Bombylius genus. The fly derives its name from its close resemblance to bumblebees and are often mistaken for them. This particularity of the insects exterior allows them to avoid potential predators and to put their eggs into another insects nests. Bombylius major can be found from April to June throughout temperate Europe, North America and some parts of Asia.
