Description
English:

Bone gaming die.

A bone dice made and used largely by Blackfoot women, who carved the dice from the fragments of rib bones. As with Euro-American dice, these were held in the hand and thrown. Unlike Euro-American dice, however, these dice have designs—lines, chevrons, or holes—on one side only. After they were thrown, in sets of four, the women tallied their points by adding up the numbers on the dice whose design side was face up.
