Description
Deutsch: Das um 1300 gebaute „Steinerne Haus“ ist das älteste erhaltene Gebäude in der Stadt Borgentreich, Kreis Höxter, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Deutschland. Ab 1406 diente das ehemals dem Hof des Klosters Hardehausen zugehörige „Zehnthaus“ den Zisterziensern als Kloster und Hauptsitz ihrer Niederlassung. Mit der Säkularisierung 1803 ging das Steinerne Haus in den Besitz des preußischen Staates über, der es 1848 an die Stadt Borgentreich verkaufte, in deren Eigentum es sich bis heute befindet. Von 1920 bis 1952 wurde es als Schule genutzt, danach bis 1977 teils zu Wohnzwecken vermietet. Anschließend stand das historische Gebäude leer und verfiel zunehmend. 1985 wurde es als Baudenkmal eingetragen. Nach Sanierung und innerem Umbau 1999 wurde das Haus zum Sitz der Landschaftsstation im Kreis Höxter sowie der Bürgerinitiative „Lebenswertes Bördeland und Diemeltal“, des Naturkundlichen Vereins Egge-Weser und des Aktionsbündnisses „Tag der Regionen“ (Info).
