Description
English: c/n 3

Built in 1934 as the third of four aircraft produced, all of which were hand built to an extremely high standard. It was commissioned by Warren Eaton, a WW1 fighter pilot who had later founded the Soaring Society of America. He first flew his new Albatross in May 1934, but died three months later in the crash of a Franklin Primary glider. The Albatross was donated to the Smithsonian Institute by his widow in 1935 and is seen on display in the Steven F. Udvar Hazy Center as part of the National Air and Space Museum.
