Description
English: Bowyer's Bridge, Near Little Easton, Essex This bridge carrying the B184 over the river Chelmer, was named after Thomas Bowyer, a resident of the nearby village of Great Dunmow. In 1556, he refused to renounce his protestant faith and adopt catholicism. As a punishment he was taken to Stratford in East London and burnt at the stake. For a close up of the plaque, see 1371063
