Description
English: "This portrait was probably painted in the nineteenth century for the set of royal portraits at St James's and based on a portrait of c.1580-1600, wrongly identified as Queen Elizabeth I. The sitter is portrayed at full length, holding a fan her right hand, wearing a richly jewelled gown over a wide drum farthingale and a lace trimmed open ruff, with long strings of pearls over her shoulders. The regalia are on a table to the left."
