| Description |
English: British Waterways and British Railways, Saltley, 1962 It took a little research to decide the exact spot of this photograph, taken in 1962 from a passing boat on the Grand Union Canal (Birmingham & Warwick Junction section). The problem was partly because the water between canal and railway (a canal reservoir) is now occupied by the A47. In 1962 several rotting narrow boats were laid up here. The buildings were Saltley works. |
