Title |
Bronze Age Denticulated Scraper Lithic Implement |
||
Description |
English: A possible denticulated scraper dating from the Middle-Late Bronze Age. It comprises a large part of a flint nodule with cortex surviving on all sides except the ventral surface, which is flat and smooth. One edge appears to have been coarsely re-worked to form a rough scraper. However, the edge seems very sharp and new and it may be that this effect has occurred 'naturally' through the action of vehicles running over the object. Flint does not occur naturally in this area but the object was found in the verge of a lane and it may have been imported as rough metalling. The object measures 71.33mm long x 41.29mm wide x 17.07mm thick and weighs 56.95g. |
