Summary edit
DescriptionBrooke rajahs graves at Sheepstor.JPG |
English: The graves of the Brooke White Rajahs of Sarawak, buried at St Leonard's Church, Sheepstor, Devon, England. In all, there are four graves inside the iron railings.
The grave on the left is that of James Brooke, (1803-1868), the first Rajah of Sarawak. On the right is the grave of his nephew, Charles Brooke (1829-1917), second Rajah of Sarawak. The two graves in the centre are those of two of the sons of Charles Brooke: Closest to the church, the slightly higher of the two central graves, is that of Charles Vyner Brooke, (1874-1963), the third and final Rajah of Sarawak. Closest to the camera, the slightly lower of the two central graves, is that of Bertram Willes Dayrell Brooke, (1876-1965), the Tuan Muda. Outside the railed area are four other grave markers of members of the Brooke family: Kathleen Mary Brooke (1907-1981), first wife of Anthony Walter Dayrell Brooke and sometime Ranee Muda of Sarawak; Angela Brooke (1942-1986), daughter of Anthony Walter Dayrell Brooke and Kathleen Brooke; Anne, Lady Bryant (1910-1993), daughter of Bertram Willes Dayrell Brooke; and J.C.V.C. 'Jimmy' Brooke, (1911-1995) son of Harry Brooke.
