On la remplaça par une nouvelle effigie du même prince; puis, en 1752,celle-ci fut remplacée à son tour par la statue équestre de Charles de Lorraine.Après la bataille de Jemmapes, les Français la démontèrent. Après la victoire deNeerwinde, les Autrichiens la remontèrent. Enfin, elle néchappa point à la fureurdévastatrice de 1793. Lorsquil sagit, en i852, de rendre à la Maison des Brasseursson primitif couronnement, la section de linstruction publique et des beaux-arts (1) Louis Hymans, dans Types et Silhouettes, a donné de piquants détails sur les origines du Cercle Artistique et Littéraire.
