| Description |
English: Buckfastleigh Station (remains), View eastward: Ashburton to left, Totnes to right; former Great Western Totnes - Ashburton branch. This was the scene between the closure of the branch (to passengers on 5/11/58, goods on 10/9/62) and its revival by the heritage Dart Valley Railway (now the South Devon Railway) in April 1969. Since then the A38(M) has been built and would cross in the foreground. The DVR reopened the line Buckfastleigh - Totnes (Riverside) on 5/4/69. From 4/85 their trains were allowed back into Totnes BR station as well, but this facility may have been withdrawn more recently. |
