English: Budleigh Salterton shingle bank An extension of the pebble beach at Budleigh Salterton causes the River Otter to make a detour on its final approach to the sea. The river was originally as wide as the flat lands seen to the right. The Budleigh pebble beds are a distinct geological stratum, lying on top of the old red sandstone seen on the cliffs on the far side of the village. Oh, and the teasel? Just artistic! |
