Summary

edit
Description Buffalo NY Central Terminal, September 1989. I felt like "Indiana Bruce in the Temple of Transportation" while we wandered through this mega structure. This was one of the last great railroad stations built, opening in 1929, when rail passenger travel had already passed its peak. It never was used to capacity and was finally abandoned about 1980. Quite eerie to wander through its great concourse and along the weed overgrown platforms. Scan from 35mm slide.
