For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Der Krieg an der Westfront im Tonfilm! In Petersdorf in Frankfurt a/O. wird zurzeit ein grosser Kriegsfilm von der Westfront 1918 unter Mitwirkung ehemaliger deutscher und französischer Frontsoldaten aufgenommen. Das Aufnahmegelände für den Kriegsfilm umfaßt mehrere Kilometer. Die Schützengräben und Unterstände sind getreu den Vorbildern der Westfront nachgeahmt. Ehemalige deutsche und französische Frontsoldaten im Aufnahmegelände mit Tankwagen für den Tonfilm.
