For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Konrad Gesner, Vogel-, Fisch- und Tierbuch ADN-ZB Grubitzsch 22.11.85 Leipzig: Deutsche Bücherei-40. Jahrestag der Wiedereröffnung (24.11.85)- Unter den wertvollen Beständen des Deutschen Buch- und Schriftmuseums in der Deutschen Bücherei befindet sich das Vogel-, Fisch- und Tierbuch von Konrad Gesner. Es wurde 1557 und 1563 in Zürich von Christoph Froschauer gedruckt. Das Museum in der Bücherei beherbergt Sachzeugen zur Geschichte des Buches, der Schrift, des Papiers und des Einbandes, die bist zu den frühen Schriftkulturen der Babylonier und Ägypter zurückgehen und bis zur Gegenwart fortgesetzt werden.
