For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Berlin, Staatsbibliothek, Restaurationswerkstatt Zentralbild Brüggmann 12.11.69 Berlin: In der Restaurationswerkstatt der Deutschen Staatsbibliothek. Seit über 17 Jahren beschäftigt sich Restaurator Herbert Purz mit der "Heilung" von Büchern, Zeitungen und Zeitschriften der Deutschen Staatsbibliothek. Hier werden alte Klebestreifen von der Zeitung "Die Rote Fahne" abgelöst und damit die Konservierung des 1. Jahrganges dieses wichtigen geschichtlichen Dokuments vorbereitet.
