English: Butter Cross, Great Hucklow Restored by villagers in 2003, with help from Peak District National Park Authority.The Butter Cross is one of a secular rather than religious nature, set up to show where goods could be sold.This one was probably set up in what is now the car park of the Queen Anne inn.
The base was intact, but the ashlars making up the shaft had deteriorated or disappeared. A new shaft was made by a local quarry |
