Description
English: Byzantine copper alloy follis of Constantine VII, Porphyrogenitus, with Zoe dating to AD 913-19. Minted at Constantinople. Sear (1974, 292) no.1758.

The coin has come from a site with other 10th and 11th century material and this, and the condition of the coin, suggests it is a contemporary import and loss. The findspot is near a Medieval harbour and it is probably associated with this trading activity.
