Kommentar: Constans II. (Taufname Heraclius, Thronname Constantinus, abgekürzt zu Constans) wurde am 7. November 630 geboren und war der Sohn des Heraclius Constantinus. Nach dem Tode des Heraclius I. im Jahre 641 wurde er auf Druck der Stadtbevölkerung durch Heraclonas im September 641 zum Mitkaiser gekrönt. Nach der Entmachtung des Heraclonas und seiner Mutter Martina im Oktober oder November desselben Jahres war Constans II. bis zur Ernennung seiner Söhne 654 bzw. 659 der alleinige Herrscher des byzantinischen Reiches.
