Description

O actual edifício da Câmara Municipal do Funchal, foi mandado construir em 1758, pelo Conde de Carvalhal, para sua residência, mais tarde foi ocupado por uma empresa de exportação de vinhos, vindo a ser adquirido pela câmara em 1883, para servir como os Paços do Concelho. Edifício bem representativo da arquitectura do sec.XVIII, sofreu algumas adaptações e alterações depois de adquirido pela Câmara, sendo a mais emblemática a instalação da linda escultura em mármore, da Leda e do Cisne em 1941.
