Description
English: Photo by Roger Puta

Rick Zorko wrote me upon seeing this picture:

Don't know for sure, but I probably saw that train. My grandparent's farm was in the corner bordered by the CGW on the north and the EJ&E on the west. Most of the the land in that corner is still vacant. We used to have fouth of July picnics there and my brother and I would run up to the fence and stand there and watch the CGW switch out the interchange. Even walked the half mile or so to the Ingalton station. They used to take a long time there switching, so [Roger] wouldn't have any trouble making St. Charles. We spent many hours in the late 50's and 60's up by the fence listening to 6 F units switch cars, oh and visiting the grandparents. Every now and then the EJ&E would send one or two of those big center cabs by. Even saw one come up into the Ingalton yards to pick up cars. CNW was there too, but seldom saw a train.
