Français : Inscription latine d’époque romaine retrouvée à Vaison-la-Romaine avant le XVIIe siècle et aujourd’hui conservée au Musée Calvet d’Avignon. Plaque calcaire devant être à l’origine fixée sur une base de statue. L’inscription faite par les Vaisonnais des Voconces honore le chevalier romain Gaius Sappius Flavus en raison d’une importante évergésie testamentaire. Elle rappelle son cursus : Flavus avait été tribun de la légion XXI Rapax et commanda l’aile Thracum Herculiana, il fut aussi préfet des rives de l’Euphrate. Il légua une somme considérable destinée à fournir des intérêts ainsi qu’une autre somme pour décorer le portique devant les thermes. Références : CIL XII, 1357 et voir p. 825 (ILS, 2709).
